Job description

A youth worker is a professional who supports young people with their personal, social, and educational development. They work in various settings such as schools, colleges, faith-based groups, and youth centers.

Youth workers guide and support young people to help them reach their full potential. They set, organize, and run community programs, and through these programs, they help young people explore and understand their ideas, values, and beliefs. They also build young people’s confidence and life skills so that they can make a successful transition to adulthood

  • Youth worker Job responsibilities:

Assessing the needs of young people to correctly plan and deliver programs related to areas such as health, fitness, smoking, drugs, gangs, violence, relationships, and bullying.

Setting up and running arts-based activities, community/environmental projects, residential activities, outdoor education, and sporting activities.

Developing a relationship with young people based on respect and trust, ensuring they have a safe place to develop their identity and place in society.

Supporting young people in different settings, including outreach work.

Mentoring, coaching, and supporting individuals, encouraging greater social inclusion. Working in partnership with families and other key people in the young person’s life, as well as with professionals from other organizations involved with young people such

as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams, and local authorities, in order to build a strong support network Skills and qualifications requirement will include: Qualification

  • Relevant qualification at degree level Experience

At least 3 years’ experience in relevant field

Job Types: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent, Graduate

Pay: £25,834.50-£36,554.37 per year
